Monday Update

Last night we had our first sauna. What an amazing. We had it up to 80C which is 180F, yeah, your reading that correctly. We hope to get it up to 100C or 212F but last night, we tried to heat it slow and get see how everything reacts. My lovely plaster wall cracked a lot, so I have to patch that and put it on a lot thicker so that it will hold together. The whole family got to enjoy the sauna. Nänna, Reenas grandmother, who lives with us, got to go in first. The sauna is her old kitchen, so it was fun to enjoy that space in a new way. Oskar and Alex enjoyed being in the hot room, but they also enjoyed shower more. The room heats up so they could dance in the shower and run around and be crazy. The hot room also help Alex and his croup (not sure the spelling of that) which he has had off and on for a while. Here is a little video I shot a little while ago before the sauna was done, so you can see what its all about.

Reena is pressing on with her pregnancy. She said it will be much easier with a sauna now. Oskar is talking now more and more. He even told me that the hockey game I was watching was boring and that I needed to change it to something that he could enjoy as well. Alex has been talking a little too. He is repeating words that we say and now even says Oskar, in his cute way without the s. I am doing good. The relief that has come after finishing such a big project as a sauna is amazing. But its done, just some small things to wrap up and then its history.

Work is going well. I am preparing for our big outreach Going UP event in the middle of May. Also, this weekend is the large Baptist youth gathering and I am helping our band a little and also teaching a seminar or video in ministry. Then a week from now I am heading to Seattle for a church planting school. This is really cool. We have desire to see Risttee plant a new church every 3 years, so we are hoping to get some help and ideas on how we can do that. If things will ever change in Estonia, then the church is doing to have to lead the way.

Some of you have asked about the Brain Fart Fund. Honestly is not going so well, we have only a hand full of donations, so if you have been thinking about it, go ahead and use the like to the right here and lets get the total amount done as quickly as possible.

Thursday in EST

Started out my Thursday by having a breakfast meeting with Toivo and Peep to talk through the next couple of series at Risttee. It was a great meeting because we are starting a series in a few weeks about the will of God and this subject launched a great conversation and you could feel the Holy Spirit moving amoungst us. The will of God is one of the hardest topics to discuss because there are so many different ideas and takes on the subject and its one subject where people constantly ask about. I am excited to see what comes up in the next few weeks as we prepare for the series.

One news is another young girl accepted Christ at lift on Friday. Her name is Metta, spelling could be wrong. You can pray for her. She is starting a discipleship program with some of our youth leaders. I want to ask you pray for our young leaders, Daniel, Timo, Jordan, Josh, Kati, Eva, Hanna and Kata. These people are awesome and I am just so proud of the work they are allowing God to do through them. I have seen so many of them out in town meeting and spending time with students helping them in their spiritual journeys and we are seeing fruit for this. Pray for them as they continue this process and pray that they keep a solid time in their own lives with Christ.

The fam is doing great. We are all chipping in to get the sauna done. The other day I put up a wood siding wall in the sitting room and it looked nice and Oskar and Alex thought it needed the aged look, so while I was outside cutting some wood, they grabbed some hammers and put some dents all over the wall to give it that look, we were looking for. Its funny, I didn't mad, I kinda laughed. I think its cool that for years to come I can look at that wall and see some memories of the tiny little guys that will soon grow up and not want to spend every minute with their daddy building something.

The weather her is incredible. Light jackets are our, the boys don't need snow pants which is awesome. Once the sauna is done, we have to finally build our fence in the front yard which will help us to relax when we can just let the boys out and run around and not worry about them out on the road.

Just to let you know, we have only 3 donations for the Brain Fart Fund, that means we still need 147 to reach the goal, so if you have the free $15 then please send in our way, check here for the details.

Things are moving

Promised to give you a quick update on some big things that have been going on.

This past Friday 3 girls accepted Christ at our youth event, LIFT. One of the girls was from English Camp and two others have been attending life the past few weeks after our last big Going UP event. That makes 5 people in the last 3 weeks to accept Christ and all of them have went after it themselves, meaning we didn't give invitations they came to our leaders and took the initiative. This is really encouraging and often the most comfortable way for Estonians to come to Christ. From here, each of the girls will begin some discipleship process and the will probably get baptised and join the church in early June. I hope its just the start of something big at Risttee, but we will see what God has in store for us!

Brain fart

Did you ever have a moment when you temporarliy lose your mind or your sense of intelligence, its as if your brain just did something it shouldn't. That is what happend when I drove the large trailer into the parking garage and smashed it pretty good. Here is the picture if you haven't seen it.

Well the guy who owns the trailer finally called me and told me how much it was to replace the frame on the upper part of the trailer and the cost of putting new advertising on all 4 sides. The total, $1500. thats right one thousand five hundred and 00/100 (for those who like to see what it would look like on a check.)

This is pretty painful, as most of you know, we are support missionaries and that means we live from dollar to dollar that is donated by churches and wonderful people that God has prompted to generously support us. But I am not worried cause I know God will provide and we will adjust, but here is my idea. What if 100 people out there sent a $15 check to help pay for this. 100 people who have ever had a brain fart and messed up a little. I know that most everyone has done something like this...well lets be honest, I doubt anyone other than Chevy Chase in his Vacation movies ever did this, but almost everyone has made a mistake. So if your reading this, and you have $15 free dollars, drop a check or cash in the mail to the address below and help me out. Also, forward this along to someone else and see if we can't get 100 brain fart victums to step out and hook a brother up.

Here is the details for sending a check:
Make the check payable to:
