Sunday Reflections

We had a crazy busy weekend here in Tartu. On Saturday we had "Tagahoov" our monthly family event with a program for parents and children. We had over 60 people there and it was a great success. Our theme was "Its better to give than receive". It fit with Christmas and all that fun stuff. The event had singing and kids doing motions, drama, games and a bible story. We also had a childrens choir come and sing a few songs.

After the program we had the next room set up for the kids to do some really cool things. The girls made 3 different Christmas tree ornaments. The boys got to put together a wood car. We had little kits made up and the boys had to just attacch the pieces with different screws. It was a great chance for dads and sons to do something together. Also, we had borrowed a Nintendo WII and a big group of kids enjoyed some sort of game where you had to move on a special mat and match the moves on the screen. The kids really enjoyed that and you could barely talk over the laughter coming from the kids playing the game. It was a good chance for our church to make some new contacts and invite many of our friends with children.

Yesterday I got to preach. I really enjoy this. We are in the second week of our Warrior series. We looked at the story of Gideon and saw a few differences in his life of how he started and how God used him. It gave a good represetnation of how I saw that he was a "boy" at the start and how he changed to being a "Man". I challeged the guys there to start being men, by taking responsibility, seeing more than just themselves and to act not over react. Peep translated and I really feel good about how everything went. Next week we wrap up the series before Christmas.
